9 Children Die, 20 Injured In Fire Incident In Pak’s Dadu
Islamabad, April 20: Around 9 children died, 20 others injured and more than 50 houses burned down in a fire incident in Pakistan’s Faiz Mohammed Village near Mahar Town of Dadu District.
The fire reportedly broke out in the kitchen of a small hut, which rapidly engulfed the surrounding locality, comprising around 50 or more houses on Monday evening, reports Geo News.
It is reported that around 150 buffaloes, cows, goats and other animals also burned to death. Dadu SSP Irfan Ali Samoo confirmed the death of nine persons and said all the bodies were brought to the Mahar Taluka Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The villagers blame the district administration for not responding swiftly. They said the fire broke out at 2130 hours on Monday and lasted until 900 hours on Tuesday.
Expressing grief over deaths, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the district administration for stepping up the rescue operation and provide medical facility to the injured. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the federal government will take measures to provide relief to the families of the victims.
