Aurangabad,July 10: Festival of sacrifice– Eid-al-Adha or ‘Bakri Eid’ is being celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm by the Muslim community across the eight districts of Marathwada region on Sunday.
In Aurangabad, a large numbers of Muslims dressed up in their traditional attire attended special prayers at more than 80 masjids and idgahs in Aurangabad city.
Meanwhile, sources from the rest of the districts said the festival was celebrated with equal fervour and devotion.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements in the city to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival .
Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari , including the leaders of different political parties and social organisations extended Eid greetings to the Muslim fraternity on this occasion.
Notably , during the past two years due to covid pandemic ,the respective districts administration had appealed to celebrate the festival in their homes .
