Aurangabad, Jan 27: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 3,196 fresh Covid-19 cases and 8 related deaths, health authorities informed on Thursday. Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Nanded district recorded the highest 611 cases and 4 deaths followed by Aurangabad with 958 cases and 2 deaths, Parbhani district reported 278 cases and a single death, Hingoli had 82 cases and a single death, Latur had 403 cases, Beed had 295 cases, Jalna had 276 cases and Osmanabad had 266 cases, they added.
Meanwhile, during the same period, 35,756 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 7,6,05,181. The state also registered 79 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,42,316. Meanwhile,39,858 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 71,60,293. The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 94.15 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.87 per cent. At present, there are 2,98,733 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said. Meanwhile, no fresh cases of the Omicron were reported in the state., thus keeping the state’s tally at 2858. So far 1534 patient’s have been cured of the variant, they added.
