Around 1000 Delhi Police Personnel Test Positive For Covid-19
New Delhi, Jan 10: Around 1000 Delhi Police personnel have tested positive for Covid 19 since January 1, police said on Monday.
The police said that all those who have tested positive are home quarantined and are recovering well.
Since the police personnel are frontline workers, a standard operating procedure was issued for them to follow to prevent the spread of the virus.
India recorded 1,79,723 new Covid-19 cases and 146 related deaths, taking the country’s tally to 3,57,07,727 and death toll to 4,83,936 as per the Union Health Ministry data on Monday.
The active caseload currently stands at 7,23,619, while 46,569 people have recovered, taking the total tally of recoveries to 3,45,00,172.
The active cases comprise 2.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 96.62 per cent.
Daily positivity rate currently stands at 13.29 percent while the weekly Positivity Rate is at 7.92 per cent.
Meanwhile, India’s Omicron tally on Monday reached 4033, out of which, 1552 have either recovered or have been discharged.
