Shimla, Aug 24: The Sanyukat Kisan Munch has called for gheraoing the fruit stores and processing plants of Adani at four places in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.
Giving the call, SKM Convenor Harish Chauhan said on Wednesday that the government was not serious about resolving the monopoly of 18 private companies as the representative of Adani Agro Fresh and 10 others companies including prominent and key members of the committee skipped at meeting on August 23.
It was a meeting of a government-constituted 13-member panel presided by Vice Chancellor of the Dr Y S Parmar University to look into the recommendations regarding issues of management of Adani’s as well as other private companies and the rate of apples.
He said during the meeting, the farmers demanded to read a copy of the MoU signed by the government with private companies before allowing them to invest in the apple industry.
Chauhan accused the BJP government of siding with Adani Agro Fresh, which he alleged was cheating apple growers with the support of the government.
