Bhubaneswar, Oct 16 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik turned 77 on Sunday.
Patnaik appealed to people not to visit Naveen Niwas to wish him as he is leaving for Hyderabad during the day to attend the Investors’ meet, Chief Minister’s office sources here said.
Patnaik said he is always indebted to the people of Odisha for their love, affection and blessings, a release said.
Patnaik, born on October 16, 1946, is the longest-serving Chief Minister of Odisha and as of 2022, one of the longest-serving Chief Ministers of any Indian state, holding the post for over two decades since taking over on March 5, 2000. He is only the third leader after Pawan Chamling and Jyoti Basu to serve five consecutive terms as Chief Minister of an Indian state
The 14th Chief Minister of Odisha is the son of the legendary Biju Patnaik, who served twice as the CM of the eastern state.
Naveen Patnaik is also the president of the Biju Janata Dal and a writer who has authored three books.
