BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur breaks down in court

Mumbai Oct 3 : BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the Malegaon 2008 blasts case, on Tuesday broke down before a special NIA court during recording of statement under section 313 of Cr Pc and requested the court to ask her small questions instead of asking her questions while giving details of the injury of the victims.
Upon this, special Judge A K Lahoti said that the questions asked to the accused are generally on the case for the purpose of enabling them to personally explain any circumstances appearing in the evidence against them.
He also said that the questions are based upon the statement of the witnesses and the evidence produced before the court.
The proceedings of the court were halted for a few minutes. Later the court asked her several questions to which Thakur replied in the negative.
Meanwhile other accused who are facing trial were also questioned and their statements were recorded. To most of the question they said they denied any knowledge and replied in the negative. The recording of statement will continue on Wednesday..
All the accused in the case were present in the court.
