Mah: BMC Commissioner Expresses Concern Over Spurt in COVID-19 Cases

Mumbai, Jan 04 : Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Iqbal Chahal on Tuesday said that if the number of corona cases rise to 20,000 per day, then strict restrictions will be imposed in the city.

Even, state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has already hinted that if corona figures do not come under control, then there will be no alternative but to reimpose a lockdown in the state. However, the state chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray will take a final decision in this regard, Mr Pawar said.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID cases rose to 12,160 during the last 24 hours in the state, even as the capital Mumbai recorded 8082 new cases in the last 24 hours, as per a release issued by the health department.
