Bharatiya Janta Party MLA candidate Suryabansi Suraj has defeated his closets rival candidate from the Biju Janata Dal Abanti Das, by 9,809 votes.
While Suraj garnered 80,090 votes, his rival from the BJD drew 70,288 votes.
While the Congress candidate, Baba Harekrushna ,on the anticipated line, has got only 3, 561 votes to remain in the fourth place.
However, last but not the least, the supposed game changer was the Independent candidate, Raju Das who has drawn about 8,122 votes and occupied the third position.
