Los Angeles, March 31 : ‘The Flash’ has pretty much been DCEU’s most anticipated and theorized movie that is yet to come in the near future, as the comic book adaptation will finally introduce DC’s gigantic multiverse concept following its take on the Flashpoint storyline. Helmed by Andres Muschietti, the Ezra Miller starrer will bring together old and new characters such as Batman from ZSJL, Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight from Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman” in an alternate universe and Sasha Calle as Kara ZorEl/Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora Ul.
The movie was supposed to release later this year. However, the project was postponed to 2023, along with other DC movies like ‘Black Adam’ for a multitude of reasons including delays caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
But, that hasn’t stopped the executives at Warner Bros. from showing it to the public, as the movie received its first test screening. According to BigScreenLeaks, the movie had its first test screening yesterday, to gauge the reaction of average audience members on the good and bad parts about the movie.
Test screenings provide executives with valuable information on what works in a particular movie before it’s later released to the global audience in theatres. Most of the time, the big movie franchises employ these methods, with Marvel and DC doing the most by providing multiple test screenings, even though the film might not be complete with visuals and VFX work pending.
However, screen tests also run the major risk of leaking information about the characters, plot, any surprise endings, twists, cameos and cameos that could act as potential material for the setting of a new movie.
However, as of right now, we have yet to hear any concrete information about The Flash’s plot and the future of DCEU is still shrouded in mist, as the The Fastest Man Alive’s entry into the Speed Force and jumping into the multiverse is likely to change the past to set up a completely new future which is sure to look wildly different. Overall, this hardly going to be the last of The Flash’s test screenings, as the movie will undergo more of them with different changes pertaining to characterization, plot, VFX, designs etc to create the best experience possible for the fans upon its release on June 23, 2023.
