‘Stranger Things’ Gears Up For Another Entry Into The Upside Down In Season 4
Los Angeles, March 23: Stepping into the Vale of Shadows and opening the gate, ‘Stranger Things’ is gearing up for yet another frantic entry into the Upside Down with the upcoming Season 4. Ending on a high note with a nerve cracking cliff hanger, the party is back, the cars are once again running in the town of Hawkins and Starcourt seems like an old memory. ‘Stranger Things’ has released its latest batch of photos from the upcoming Season 4 on their Twitter handle and that has raised quite a few eyebrows with various questions.
With the actors having grown up quite a bit it is a prevailing question as to what would their trauma exactly feel like and just what kind of atmosphere the Duffer Brothers are aiming for. We see various pics of the gang, to clips of Hawkins, Eleven, a breathing Hopper, Nancy, Steve, Robin and Johnathan and some new members as well. In a forthcoming episode of the next season of the podcast Present Company With Krista Smith, the Duffer brothers hinted that fans have much to look forward to when Stranger Things returns in May.
“I think they’ll be happy when they see it. It’s very, very long, which is why it’s taking us a very long time,” Ross Duffer shared, noting that some of the fan theories he’s seen online are “startlingly” accurate — though he wouldn’t say which ones. “I’m constantly impressed with how sharp the fans are, and how quickly they’re able to put something together with very, very little information.” Answering further, the Duffer Brothers revealed that the next season will have a more horror flavour to it than before. “When we pitched it to Netflix all those years ago, we pitched it as the kids are…The Goonies in E.T.,” explained Ross.
“That’s their storyline. And the adults are in Jaws and Close Encounters and then the teens are in Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween. “But, this year, we don’t have the kids. We can’t do The Goonies anymore. And so, suddenly, we’re leaning much harder into that horror movie territory that we love. It was fun to make that change.” Talking with ScreenRant, executive producer and director Shawn Levy explained why the show is coming to an end and said “Well, we never wanted to run on fumes and we wanted to only tell as much story as the brothers saw and feel with clarity,” adding, “So it’s been clear for a while that they know exactly where we’re headed and this is the arc.
“We wouldn’t want to stick around for one moment beyond that vision and the clarity of that voice. So rather than focusing on that sad day that happens who knows when, the end of season five, I’ll just once again reaffirm what I’ve told everyone, which is it has been a long-ass wait for season four. But I swear to God, the world will realize it’s worth it.” Before ‘Stranger Things 4’ gets rolling, the Duffers shared the fact that the end was coming in a special letter for the fans. The cast and crew were already aware that the end was here. “Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things.
At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons,” the Duffers wrote in their statement. “It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; Season 5 will be the last.” They continued, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes. But first we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broke police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down. As always, we are grateful for your patience and support. Over and out, Matt and Ross.”
