Gutsy & Fiery IPS Officer Roopa flays police for not arresting BJP leader

Bengaluru, July 16 : Fiery IPS Officer D Roopa has taken to Twitter flaying the inaction of Karnataka police to arrest BJP leader Belur Raghavendra Shetty despite a warrant issued by the court against him.

“@CPBlr sir, Warrant of Arrest issued by Court against Belur Raghavendra Shetty since 2019 is yet not executed. Personal appearance of inspector, service thru Commissioner Police is ordered. Cops telling Court that he is absconding. He was Chairman of the Corporation till y’day. Pl see,” the fiery IPS officer tweeted on Friday attaching papers of arrest warrants along with a message to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy.

She also attached a 6-page complaint against Shetty regarding misappropriation.

In another tweet, Roopa stated that deriliction by cops in not executing warrant of arrest is punishable in section 166, 166A, 166B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The punishment becomes that much inevitable when a person (Shetty) holds a public position as chairman and the policemen submitting before the court that the accused is absconding, she said.

The complainant, Roopa added that is a senior citizen aged 65 and is still harassed by Shetty.

Roopa at present is Karnataka Handicrafts Development Corporation Managing Director and Shetty was appointed its chairman by the BJP government.

In a notice served to him, the IPS officer had alleged that Shetty had taken away artefacts from the corporation showrooms without paying money since assuming the charge as the chairman.

Earlier, a video depicting Shetty threatening to kill himself and holding Roopa responsible in a meeting, had gone viral. Roopa had asked the Chief Secretary to file a complaint against him.

She had also alleged that Shetty had threatened to throw acid on her.

The IPS officer had earlier exposed the nexus between senior IPS officers and VVIP prisoners.

She had questioned preferential treatment given to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s close aide VK Sasikala and her aides.
