Shabana On Her First ‘Colour Blind’ Character On OTT
Mumbai, March 3: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi on Thursday voiced “what a struggle” it has been for Asian actors for decades as she shared a screenshot of her character Admiral Margaret Paragonsky in “Halo”, and called it her first “colour blind” casting since she began working in Western productions three decades ago.
With the Master Chief ready to lock and load and fire his guns, the 71-year-old actor said “As Admiral Margaret Paragonsky in #HALO- my first colour blind casting since I started working in the West 34 years ago. What a struggle its been for Asian actors. Releasing on 24th March.”
Some of Azmi’s other ventures in international projects include “Fire”, “Waterborne”, “Madame Sousatzka”, “La Nuit Bengali”, “City of Joy”, and “Son of Pink Panther”.
In “Halo”, Azmi will play the role of a director of naval intelligence. Set in the 26th century, “Halo” is based on the popular sci fi first person shooter video game franchise where, the series will tell the story of Master Chief who is among a breed of super-soldiers known as Spartans created by the United Nations Space Command fighting in an interstellar war between humanity and an alien alliance known as the Covenant.
The show is directed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane and will stream on Paramount+ starring Pablo Schrieber as Master Chief Petty Officer John- 117, Natasha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, Jen Taylor as Cortana, Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha Boo, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Paragonsky, Charlie Murphy as Makee among others.
