541 Incidents Of Terror In J&K Since Abrogation Off Art 370: Minister
New Delhi, Feb 2 : There have been 541 incidents of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019 till January 26 this year, the Home Ministry informed the Rajya Sabha. In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said 439 terrorists were killed in J&K in this period.
The Minister said that 98 civilians and 109 personnel of security forces died in terror attacks in this period. The Minister also said that while there was no significant damage to public property, private properties worth around Rs 5.3 crore have been damaged. Article 370 and 35A were abrogated on August 5, 2019, dividing the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories, with Ladakh being carved out of it.
