‘Lata Ji Is Immortal Through Her Songs’: Hema Sardesai

Panaji, Feb 7: Renowned playback singer Hema Sardesai on Monday said that though legendary singer Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar is no more but she is immortal through her songs.

In a video message, Hema said,”Lata Mangeshkar ji is no more. She is immortal through her songs. She is always going to be in our heart with her songs. We have loved all of her songs. She lived a grand life.” ”It is good to know that she finally received Bharat Ratna and many many great laurels. She saw them and received them herself. She is inimitable for her unforgettable voice. Many tried to imitate her voice but did not achieve what she had. May her soul find respite and love. She will always be immortal,” she said.

Lata Mangeshkar, also called the “Nightingale of India” passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on Sunday. She was 92.
