Odisha Cabinet approves 11 mega pipe water supply projects

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 : Odisha Cabinet held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved four mega pipe water supply projects worth around Rs 1556 Crore to provide safe drinking water to Around 10 Lakh people in 11 blocks spread over four districts —Baragarha, Nayagarha, Khordha and Kalahandi.
These included two projects in Nayagarha district, three projects in Baragarha district, four in Khordha district and three in Kalahandi district.
Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting Chief Secetary S C Mohapatra said the drinking water projects are targeted to be completed in 24 months.
The money for the projects would be provided from JJM funding.
Mohapatra said the cabinet on Saturday approved the lowest tender of M/s KEC International Limited in Joint venture with SPML iNFRA lTD Mumbai amounting to Rs 395,43,79,722 for execution of mega water supply project in the Ranapur and Odagaon block of Nayagarha district.
The cabinet also approved the lowest tender of the same company amounting to Rs 453,10,33,000 for the execution of mega water supply project in three blocks — Ambabohana, Bhatti, and Sohela blocks Baragarha district.
As may as 2,95,290 people of the district would be benefitted by it.
The cabinet approved the lowest tender of M/S NCC ltd , Hyderabad amounting to Rs 456,51,05,905 for execution of mega piped water supply project in four block —Tangi,
Bhubaneswar. Balipatna, and Balianta block of Khordha district.
As many as 416,886. People will be benefitted by the project.
The cabinet also approved the tender of Megha Engineering and Infrastrcture Limited ,Hyderabad amounting to rs 248,91,05,000 for the execution of mega piped water supply project in two block—Thuamul Rampur and Koksara block of Kalahandi district. As many as 1,26,328 people will be benefitted by the project, the Chief Secretary said.
