Free Fire, BTS Collab Confirmed
New Delhi, March 2: A free-to-play mobile battle royale Garena Free Fire is all set to kick off 2022 with some huge collaborations, after joining hands with Assassin’s Creed and it is now getting together with popular K-pop boy band BTS. Taking the Internet by storm, Garena posted an announcement confirming Free Fire’s collaboration with the sensational South Korean boy band.
BTS has been named as global ambassador for the game, which crossed 1 billion downloads on the Google Play store alone in July 2021. While Garena has promised to deliver a special collaboration with events both inside and outside of the game, Free Fire’s producer Harold Teo says that “Bringing BTS into the Free Fire universe will offer our players more ways to engage with the game, socialize with the community, and enjoy new experiences”. The partnership also includes an in-game event slated for March that will see the band “enter the world of Free Fire,” though no other details have yet been given.
However, as per speculations, the BTS collaboration will be added only following the release of the OB33 update, which is expected to take place on either March 19 and 20. Garena’s other recent partnerships include Ubisoft’s famed Assassin’s Creed franchise, Capcom and Street Fighter games, and the recent Venom film “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”. The community will have to wait a few more weeks for the collaboration content to be added. Garena Free Fireis available on iOS and Android where 50 players compete to be the last one standing in 10-minute matches. A second version with updated graphics, Garena Free Fire Max, is also available for download.
