Disney Films Not To Release In Russia

Moscow, March 1: The Walt Disney Company has paused release of its films in Russia over the Ukraine situation. “Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are pausing the release of theatrical films in Russia, including the upcoming ‘Turning Red’ from Pixar,” Disney said in a statement on Monday.

The company also said that it was working with non-governmental organizations “to provide urgent aid and other humanitarian assistance to refugees”.

Disney added that it was going to make future decisions “based on the evolving situation”. Western nations have increased sanctions on Russia after it launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
