Ukraine’s Mosque Hit By Russian Shelling

Kyiv, March 12: A mosque in Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, where over 80 adults and children had taken shelter, was shelled by Russian forces, Ukrainian Ministry claimed on Saturday.
“The mosque of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Roxolana (Hurrem Sultan) in Mariupol was shelled by Russian invaders,” Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign affairs tweeted. “More than 80 adults and children are hiding there from the shelling, including citizens of Turkey,” the MFA added.
On Friday night, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar informed about the bombing in her official twitter account. “At this very moment, the Russian army is bombing the Magnificent Mosque, which was built in memory of Suleiman the Magnificent and Hurrem Sultan,” Dzheppar tweeted.
