ASCI Strike: Dhoni’s IPL Advertisement Got Banned
Apr 7: Official complaint by Traffic and road safety Organizations. One of the IPL 2022 promotional advertisements featuring former India skipper MS Dhoni has been pulled down by the Advertising Standard Council of India (ASCI) with an immediate effect.
Mahi imitated, the Thalaiva Rajnikanth in this advertisement, but a formal complaint was filed against it by the The Consumer Unity and Trust Society. As per the complaint, the advertisement glorifies the violation of traffic rules.
In the fictional video, MS Dhoni is portraying the role of a bus conductor, which is inspired by superstar Rajnikanth. The conductor causes the traffic to watch the super over of an IPL match after stopping the bus in the middle of the road.
However, the traffic police turned a blind eye to the incident after MS Dhoni said, “super over chal raha hai.”
When it’s the #TATAIPL, fans can go to any extent to catch the action – kyunki #YehAbNormalHai!

The ASCI found the video violated the code and asked the advertisement making company to either modify the ad or pull it down entirely before the 20th of April. However, the advertisement making company has agreed in writing to take down the promo with immediate effect.
Shocking the fans worldwide, the ‘captain cool’ relinquished the CSK captaincy to hand over the reins to Ravindra Jadeja. However, CSK has failed to get going under the leadership of Jadeja as they are yet to open their account this season.
After losing three consecutive matches, Chennai Super Kings are 8th in the points table. While MS Dhoni has looked good with the bat, the rest of the batting hasn’t been up to the mark so far. Dhoni has managed 89 runs in 3 matches, including a fifty.
