Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee’s ‘Dobaaraa’ receives global recognition
New Delhi, July 24 : Anurag Kashyap’s highly anticipated new-age thriller ‘Dobaaraa’ has time and again made headlines for its successful openings at the various film festivals across the world.
The entire team of ‘Dobaaraa’ received a standing ovation at the London Film Festival last month, and now the film is all set to open at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022 (IFFM), which will begin on August 12 and will continue till August 30.
After two years of IFFM being held online, the festival is gearing up to be held physically this year with the vision of bringing the vibrancy of Indian cinema on the big screen. Interestingly, ‘Dobaaraa’ is invited and becomes the opener movie at the multiple film festivals at international Film festivals.
Talking about the film being released in all genre festivals and receiving global recognition, Anurag Kashyap said, “ Its a proud moment for me and my team that ‘Dobaara’ is playing at all the genre festivals. It was at London Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival 2022 and Melbourne Film Festival 2022. I am looking forward to seeing how the world receives this film and how the audience receives this film. ‘Dobaaraa’ is a new-age thriller that reunites Taapsee Pannu and Anurag yet again. With ‘Dobaaraa’, the hit Jodi of Taapsee and Pavail Gulati will be seen again after the stupendous success of ‘Thappad’, but this time in a trippy thriller.
Starring award-winning actress Taapsee, the film is directed by the acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Cult Movies, a new wing under Balaji Telefilms and Sunir Kheterpal & Gaurav Bose (Athena).
‘Dobaaraa’ is the first film under Balaji Motion Pictures new wing, Cult Movies, which tells compelling, edgy & genre-bending stories.
It will release theatrically on August 19.
