Sangli(Maharashtra), Sep 22: Actor-director and writer Satish Alekar has been selected for this year’s prestigious “Vishnudas Bhave Purskar”by the Akhil Bhartiya Natya Vidhyamandir Committee (ABNVC), Sangli, on Thursday.
Sharad Karale, ABNVC president, said at a press conference, that Alekar has been selected for his contribution in plays, director, actor and screenplay writer and other sectors. The nature of the award is Rs 25,000 in cash, shawl, and ‘Manchinha’.
The award will be given away on “Rangbhoomi Din” on November 5, in presence of renowned film director Jabbar Patel, Karale added.
