Odisha: After Two Yrs. This Time +2 Board Exams In Offline Mode 

Bhubaneswar: On April 28 the annual Plus II examinations for Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational streams will begin in Odisha. Over 3,20,000 students will this time appear the examination in offline mode.

The government in a statement announced some sympathetic steps to assess the student in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. It said that 20% weightage in both theory and practical will be given from the performance of the students in quarter-end examinations conducted internally by the schools. For this purpose, best performances of student’s in the two of the three internals will be taken into account for evaluation.

Besides, every student will be assessed in two separate schemes in a paper – performance of the candidates based only on annual HSE and 80% weightage on the basis of performance in annual HSE and 20% weightage from the performance in quarter-end examinations.

The highest of the marks obtained by the students in the above two schemes will be the final mark in that paper. While calculating 20% weightage of quarter-end Examination and 80% weightage on annual examination, every fraction will be rounded off to the next whole number, it added.

On the other hand, in view of the possible heatwave conditions, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), has decided to organize Plus 2 exams, in one sitting, i.e. from 9 am. The practical exams will be conducted internally by the respective Higher Secondary Schools under the supervision of their own teachers, said the department sources.
