Dr Shashi Tharoor releases book ‘The Power of Mind Engineering’
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 12 : Congress Lok Sabha MP Dr Shashi Tharoor released a book ‘The Power of Mind Engineering’ authored by former Dy Chairman of Cochin Port Dr Cyril C George here on Monday.
The book, published by Rupa Publications in New Delhi and is available on Amazon, highlights the fact that modern man lives in stress and mental sufferings irrespective of wealth, or education or position and proposes a new path of life to live in good health, joy and wellness.
“Based on the latest research findings, the book enlightens us about the root causes of our sufferings in life. The reason is that our life is driven by our subconscious mind or the ego mind, which includes our false self-image, beliefs and perceptions,” Cyril C George, who was also former Dy Chairman of Mormu Gao Port and former Chairman of Chennai Port, said.
Referring to neuroscientists, the book tells us that our brains are naturally structured to be happy in childhood. Nature envisages us to be healthy and happy in order to lead a purposeful and fulfilling life.
“Quoting research findings of Harvard University, a lot of valuable wisdom is given about our thoughts and other aspects of mind-body connections; 80 percent of our thoughts—out of about 60,000 per day—are negative and repetitive, resulting in negative emotions and adverse behavioural patterns.”
“Hence, we end up living in a negative zone most of our adult life, resulting in stress, problems, mental pain and ill-health. Then, how can we regain this paradise lost ?”
As per the author, the solution lies in bringing in higher awareness of our subconscious mind, then reprogramming it and finally following a lifestyle driven by this new awareness, the consciousness.
It gives us scientific insights into the benefits of meditation. Mind Engineering is a revolutionary approach—a powerful blend of modern scientific knowledge and ancient spiritual wisdom—that is aimed to make our life filled with love, peace, joy, good health and wellness, especially for those who are living in stressful situations.
The author cautions us against the rigid ego mind, which resists change and is addicted to the present negative patterns.
So, finally, he asks a provocative question to the reader, the question is: are you willing and ready for this awakening and transformation? If yes, Mind Engineering is the path and inward journey to achieve the goal.
The book is expected to be a life guide for modern man in this technological world living in stressful situations and all those who are suffering mentally.
