Running along fragile dreams: Phenomenal journey of a Munda Girl Joshila Champia, a tribal girl from Munda Community. Born to Daniel Champia and Rahil Champia of Pathamunda Village under Jamankira Block of Sambalpur district, he led a life of extreme hardship.
This district bears testimony to the heartrending tale of a poor tribal girl who dreamt for a bright future which appeared inconceivable at one point of time.
Her parents were daily wage earners and striving hard to make both ends meet with their meagre income.
Although financial hardship was the greatest impediment in realisation of their dreams, they never gave up .Daniel was of the view that education is the key to a bright future and a dignified living. They aspired that their children should not suffer being illiterate.
Daniel always cherished a dream to get his eldest daughter Joshila was admitted to a reputed school.
Joshila’s father could get information from the neighbouring village about the good educational facility at KISS, Bhubaneswar which provides free food and shelter to indigenous children.
On the firmament of hopes there was one hope for Joshila.
At last they landed at the KISS in Bhubaneswar and saw the dream coming true.
From free education to stay and other facilities it all instilled a new enthusiastic zeal within the tribal girl.
She took little time when she came to KISS in 2018 to adapt to the new milieu and soon became used to it.
Under the guidance of teachers she discovered the founder of KISS Dr. Achut Samant as a big mentor and a man who means benevolence seriously.
Joshila never looked back and she excelled in her studies and is today a student of merits.
