Rupee Down 27 Paise Against USD

Mumbai, Jan 4: The Rupee on Tuesday dropped 27 paise to 74.53 in the opening trade due to rising demand for US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit slipped due to a firm Dollar against other world currencies amid strong opening in stock markets.

The Rupee unit registered the days high and low at 74.46 and 74.56 respectively against the US Dollar, dealers added.
