No Let Up: Fuel Prices Increased Again For 7th Consecutive Day

New Delhi, March 29 : Petrol and diesel prices were increased once again on Tuesday. According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 100.21 as against Rs 99.41 per litre previously while diesel Rs 91.47 as against Rs 90.77 per litre. In Delhi petrol price has been increased by 80 paise while diesel by 70 paise. In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 109.68 per litre ((increased by 83 paise) while diesel is at Rs Rs 94.62 (increased by 70 paise). In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 115.04 while diesel is at Rs 99.25 per litre (increased by 85 paise and 75 paise respectively). In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 105.94 per litre while diesel Rs 96.00 per litre (increased by 76 paise and 67 paise respectively). This is the seventh hike in the past eight days. The oil companies have been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since March 22 (except on March 24). The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021, but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel.
