Bali (Indonesia), July 8: Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday held talks with his Russian and French counterparts on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers Meet here.
Jaishankar tweeted that he discussed “bilateral matters of mutual interest” with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Also exchanged views on contemporary regional and international issues including the Ukraine conflict and Afghanistan,” he said.
The discussion came a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephonic conversation and discussed state of global energy and food markets in the backdrop of the Ukraine crisis.
Jaishankar also met French counterpart Catherine Colonna. It was his first meeting with the French minister since she took the charge.
Jaishankar said they discussed the “strong relationship” and “will work closely to realise its full possibilities”.
“Also spoke about the challenges confronting the world today,” he said.
