Congress Slams Centre Over Hike In Oil And Gas Prices
New Delhi March 22 : Congress general secretary, Randeep Singh Surjewala, on Tuesday slammed the government over the hike in the gas and oil prices and alleged that the “big inflation has been brought by the BJP.” Taking to twitter, Surjewala said, “Big inflation – brought by BJP! Now ₹ 50 is increased on gas cylinders. Gas cylinder – Delhi and Mumbai ₹949.50, Lucknow ₹987.50, Kolkata ₹976, Chennai ₹965.50. Now people are saying, “Don’t want “acche din” of Modi ji. #LPGLootContinues #lpgpricehike”. The Congress reaction came after the oil marketing companies increased the prices of petrol and diesel by 80 paise on Tuesday, amid a sharp jump in the international oil prices due to the ongoing Ukraine –Russia war. With this hike the prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi are currently at Rs 96.21 per litter, and Rs 87.47 per litter respectively. The price of domestic cooking gas has also been hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder, for the first time since early October. The Congress has been attacking the government over the fuel prices and demanding the reduction of some taxes imposed by the centre government.
