Lord’s First Post-pandemic ‘Snana Jatra’ With Devotees
Puri, May 19: This year it will be the first Post-pandemic Snana Yatra of the Trinity Lord at Puri Dham. Devotees and Jagannnath-premi around the globe will be allowed to have darshan at Snana Bedi (bathing altar) of Puri Srimandir with his divine siblings on the auspicious occasion of Deba Snana Purnima, this time.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) announced this following a meeting with Daitapati Nijog servitors on Thursday.
This year Deba Snana Purnima will be held with public participation, the annual holy bathing ritual of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Lord Sudarshan and Devi Subhadra, from the path below the bathing altar of Srimandir.
“Devotees will be very happy to know that for the the first time, they will be allowed atop the bathing altar to see pay obeisance to the deities for two hours after Hati Besha. However, they cannot touch the deities,” says Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.
While there will be Parimanik (paid) darshan during Pahandi of the deities to Snana Bedi, devotees will not be charged for darshan on Snana Mandap, he added.
On Ratha Yatra, the official said SJTA is considering to hold the annual car festival this year in presence of devotees, if COVID situation continues to remain under control.
