International Seminar On Museums From Feb 15

Hyderabad, Feb 13: Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy has said that a two-day International Seminar on Museums will be held at Salar Jung Museum, here from February 15. Talking to media at BJP State headquarters here on Sunday, Mr Reddy said that prominent International experts in museums will take part in the seminar and discuss the latest technology of museums for creating new museums in the country.
He said that the Centre has taken up several initiatives to develop Museums in the country. As part of it, several new Museums will be set up at prominent places across the country. Keeping in view the future generation and knowing about the history, the Centre has decided to set up new museums in the name of freedom fighters and prominent people, the Minister said two new museums will be set up in North and South Block situated at Raisina Hill in New Delhi soon.
Besides, setting up an ancient arms museum in the country, a museum will be set up at Red Fort in the name of Subhash Chandra Bose, he said one more museum will be set up based on the history of Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister said that a museum is being set up at Jharkhand in the name of freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
He said the Centre has allocated Rs 15 crore and released Rs one crore as advance for setting up a Tribal museum in Hyderabad city in the name of Komaram Bheem. But Telangana is yet to identify a place and land so far, Mr Reddy added
