Mumbai, April 4 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Monday posted a massive gain of 1537 points, breaching the 60K level to reach 60,814 following a news of merger of private lender HDFC Bank with housing finance firm HDFC Ltd, the companies said on Monday The Nifty too rose 394 points at 18,064.90. The scrip, HDFC soared 15 per cent at 2818.55 in opening session and HDFC Bank too spurted 13.87 per cent at 1715.25. The Sensex registered the days high and low at 60,845.10 and 59,760.22 points respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 18,089.60 and 17,791.40 points respectively. The Mid Cap moved up 0.84 per cent and Small Cap by 1.18 per cent. In 30 scrips, 24 advanced while 6 declined. All sectoral indices were also in green as Finance stocks spurted more than 5 per cent. The gainers were HDFC by 15 per cent at Rs 2818.55, HDFC Bank by 13.87 per cent to Rs 1715.25,0, Bajaj finance by 2.12 per cent to Rs 7569.90, L & T by 1.21 per cent to Rs 1812.05. The losers were Infosys by 0.96 per cent to Rs 1884.10, M& M by 0.67 per cent to Rs 820.40 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.61 per cent to Rs 7645.10.
