NTPC Declares Commercial Operation Of 22MW Floating Solar
Hyderabad, April 1: 22 MW out of 92 MW Kayamkulam Floating Solar Declared Commercial Power giant NTPC on Friday announced the commercial operation of 22 megawatts of floating solar capacity in Kayamkulam, Kerala.
The capacity, which began commercial operation on Thursday, is part of its 92 MW Kayamkulam floating solar PV project, a release here said. “Consequent upon successful commissioning, the first part capacity of 22 MW out of 92 MW Kayamkulam Floating Solar PV Project at Kayamkulam, Kerala, is declared on commercial operation with effect from 1300 hours of March 31, 2022”.
With this, total commercial operation of Floating Solar Capacity in the Southern Region rose to 127 MW. Earlier, NTPC declared Commercial operation of 80 MW Floating Solar at Ramagundam (Telangana State) and 25 MW Floating Solar at Simhadri (Andhra Pradesh). With this, the standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 54,516.68 MW.
Further, the group’s installed and commercial capacity have increased to 68,631.68 and 67,971.68 MW, respectively. On achieving the milestone, Regional Executive Director (South) Naresh Anand appreciated Team Kayamkulam and reiterated NTPC’s commitment for Renewable Energy. Actualizing NTPC’s target of 60 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2032, Southern Region is taking concerted efforts, Anand added.
