IM Neelash Saha and WIM Arpita Mukherjee win the National Junior Open Chess Championship in Boys and Girls Tournaments
Kolkata, Jul 20 : IM Neelash Saha and WIM Arpita Mukherjee won the
National Junior Open Chess Championship
in Boys and Girls sections as they scored 7.5 points and 6.5 points
respectively out of 8 rounds, which were organised
virtually and concluded on Monday evening.
The two-day championship, organised by Sara Bangla Daba Sangstha,
affiliated to All India Chess Federation, the State Junior Open & Girls
(Combined) Online Chess Championship.
Due to Covid -19 pandemic, the tournament was organised online over
Tornelo platform.
This was the selection tournament for the forthcoming National Junior
Open and Girls Tournament.
Altogether 133 players including IM Kaustav Chatterjee, IM Mitrabha
Guha, IM Aronyok Ghosh, WCM Brisy Mukherjee and Samriddhaa Ghosh
took part in this championship, according to Sara Bangla Daba Sangstha
secretary Tushar Chatterjee.
