Adil Kalyanpur Keeps His Winning Spree In Qatar
Chandigarh, Dec 31: Adil Kalyanpur of India continued to display his good form as he progressed to singles quarter-final and doubles semi-final of the $ 15,000 6th Qatar Men’s ITF World Tennis Tour 2021 on Thursday, it was reported on Friday.
Qualifier Adil Kalyanpur posted an upset pre-quarter-final verdict after shocking fifth seed Oscar Moraing of Germany 6-1, 7-6 (4). The match lasted 83 minutes.
Adil’s opponent in the singles quarter-final is fourth seed Beibit Zhukayev of Kazakhstan.
Adil Kalyanpur, combining with American Preston Brown, ended the challenge of Shahbaaz Khan (India)/Nawaf Rashed (Qatar) 6-1 6-4 in the doubles quarter-final in 58 minutes.
Preston Brown (USA)/Adil Kalyanpur (India) will next challenge top seeds Ray Ho (TPE) and Beibit Zhukayev (KAZ) for a final berth.
Qualifier Rishi Reddy of India went down fighting to third seed Martin Krumich of Czech Republic in a three-setter pre-quarter singles 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in two hours and 11 minutes.
Martin served 11 aces and Committed three double faults. He won two of four breakpoints.
Rishi had a lone ace to his credit. He committed seven doule faults. The Indian player won five of six breakpoints.
