Unemployment allowance, arrest of Bargari case culprits among 5 demands Kejriwal asks Channi to fulfill
New Delhi : The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal has asked the Punjab Chief Minister to deliver upon five demands he raised after reaching Punjab on Tuesday to campaign for the upcoming assembly election in the state.
Removal of tainted ministers from the cabinet and officers from the plum postings and action against the culprits of the Bargari Bedabi case is among the five demands raised by the AAP leader.
“I have five demands which the newly appointed Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi should act upon apart from the poll promises Congress made four-and-a half years ago. These demands are on behalf of lakhs of people who have suffered under the current regime,” Kejriwal said.
“I want Channi saab to remove all the tainted ministers who have been given a position in the state cabinet along with the tainted officers serving at the plum posts they have been appointed to,” his first demand stated.
My second demand is to give immediate justice in Bargari case and arrest the culprits. It can be done within 24 hours if the government intends to,” he added.
“Our third demand is to provide employment to the youth promised by former CM Captain Amarinder Singh. If the government is incapable in providing jobs, I want Channi to ensure unemployment allowance to the youth of Punjab. It should be done within a week,” the AAP leader said further.
He also asked the Punjab CM to waive all the loans taken by the farmers in Punjab while his fifth demand was to cancel the power purchase agreement.
“Congress says that it knows how to cancel power purchase agreement so I want the government led by the party to provide relief to the people as well as the waiver of the loans taken by the farmers, ” the AAP leader added.
Kejriwal, who is also the CM of Delhi, is in Punjab today to address a townhall session, a part of AAP’s election campaign in the run-up to the assembly polls scheduled early next year.
