Priyanka on fast under police detention in Sitapur
Sitapur : Adopting a Gandhian way to express her protest, against being restrained from visiting Lakhimpur Kheri, Congress general secretary and in charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has sat on dharna and started “Upwas” (fast) till she is allowed to meet the farmers family killed in Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Sunday.
Ms Vadra, who was detained by police in Sitapur when she was on her way to Lakhimpur on Monday early morning, has announced that she will be on fast till the authorities allow her to go to Lakhimpur and meet the family members of the decreased farmers.
Earlier the Congress leader took the broom and swept the floors of the PAC guest house where she has been detained.
The video of Priyanka sweeping the floor was also went viral in the social media.
The Congress leader has conveyed to the authorities that she won’t return back to Delhi till she meet the family members of the four farmers killed in the violence.
