Kolkata : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday filed nomination for the Bhabanipur assembly by-elections which would be held on September 30.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Priyanka Tibrewal against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief for the forthcoming polls. Left Front’s nominee is Srijib Biswas.
The result for Bhabanipur bypoll will be announced on October 3.
Banerjee, who was defeated by the BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari in the Assembly polls this year, needs to win the election to keep her Chief Minister’s post. She had won the Bhabanipur seat twice in 2011 and 2016.
