New Delhi : The Congress party on Thursday slammed the government over the job losses in the country and said the future of youth has become bleak due to the negligence of the government.
“In the month of August alone, about 15 lakh people have lost their jobs,” Congress said in a tweet.
It said “9.78 percent people do not have employment in the urban areas, whereas in the rural areas this rate is 7.64 percent,”.
“Employment crisis under the Modi regime is becoming horrible day by day,” the party said.
According to the date released by the centre for Monitoring the Indian Economy, CMIE, the unemployment rate rose from 6.95 percent in July to 8.32 percent in August 2021.
The data also showed that the number dipped from 399.38 million in July to 397.78 million in August, with nearly 1.3 million job losses in rural India alone.
