Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday registered 993 Covid-19 infections, according to the State I&PR department.
578 cases were reported from quarantine centres
415 are local contacts
According to the latest update, Khurda district reported the highest 419 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (95) and Jajpur (60).
With this, the COVID-19 tally in the state reached 997146 with 9536 active cases.
 On the other hand, 65 Covid-19 patients, who were under treatment in different hospitals, succumbed to the deadly Corona virus, informed the Health & Family Welfare Department on Wednesday.
According to the Health Department, with the latest reports of 65 deaths, the toll due to coronavirus in the State rose to 7,086.
Cuttack reports the highest Covid deaths (15), followed by Jagatsinghpur (11), Kendrapara (9), Dhenkanal(7), Angul and Balasore (5 each), Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj (3 each), Puri (2 ), Ganjam, Khordha, Keonjhar, Koraput and Nayagarh ( 1 each).
