Water level inches above danger mark in Subarnarekha river; flood alert issued
Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal the water level in Subarnarekha river has breached ebove the danger mark.
As per reports, the Subernarekha river is flowing at 10.24 metres at Rajghat in Balasore against the danger level of 10.36 metres.
Hundreds of villages in Baliapal, Bhograi and Jaleswar blocks are likely to be submerged if the river level rises in this way.
The families residing in the low-lying areas have been alerted. The people who are living across the river are in a panic state as the embankment condition is very weak.
