Odisha: Veteran Odia Cine actor Mihir Das is reportedly critical and hospitalized due to multi-organ failure. According to family sources, three days ago he was who was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack and he’s responding well to treatment. For past few years the actor has been suffering from kidney ailments and now he is on ventilator support and dialysis.
“His condition was little bit worrisome at the time of admission. What I understood from the discussion with the doctors’ team attending to him is that he is responding well to treatment. We should pray for his speedy recovery,” maintained secretary, Odisha Cine Artists Association, Sritam Das. While answering to the queries of journalists, the actor’s son Amlan Das said, “He has been diabetic for the last 25 years. His kidney problem was diagnosed three years ago. Now he is responding well to treatment.”
Informing journalists about the actor’s health, Dr Somraj Ghosh of the hospital said it will be too early to say anything about him. “He is a chronic kidney patient. He had been admitted here one and a half months ago for kidney related ailments. This time, he also suffered a cardiac arrest and has been revived. However, his lungs, heart and kidney have been affected. We are doing our best,” Dr Ghosh said.
Born in Mayurbhanj district, Mihir made his debut in an art film titled School Master. His versatility in theatricals and stagecraft has bagged him many awards and accolades.
