Women’s Cricket Has Improved Enormously: Ganguly

Kolkata, Feb 4 : BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Friday praised women’s cricket, saying it has “improved enormously” in the last few years. With just 30 days left for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to start, Ganguly extended his wishes to the Mithali Raj-led team India. The showpiece event will be held in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3. India will begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on March 6 at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. “30 days for the start of the women’s World Cup in NZ ..wish the Indian team and the rest of the teams all the very best …” said Ganguly in a video he tweeted.

“Women’s cricket has improved enormously and gone to much higher directions in the last few years. “We saw how good the T20 World Cup was in Australia where 86,000 (86,174) people watched the final. The last final 50 over World Cup (2017), India played England and lost that final. India did play that T20 World Cup final (2020). “To our girls, our ladies, all the very best. We are supporting and backing you. Make it a memorable one,” he signed off.
