Cuttack : The body of a lab assistant, Debasis Das, who went missing after jumping into Mahanadi River, was recovered from the riverbed near Sirlo Brahmankhand under Kishan Nagar police limits of Cuttack.
The development was confirmed by Salepur SDPO.
On Sunday morning, Debasis Das, a resident of Chauliaganj area in Cuttack, was en route to Bhadrak from Bhubaneswar in his car when he asked the driver to stop the vehicle on the Mahanadi River bridge.
When the driver stopped the vehicle, Das stepped out and jumped into the river.
Soon after the incident, fire services personnel, Chauliaganj, and Jagatpur Police reached the spot and launched an operation to trace him but in vain.
However, his body was recovered from the riverbed near Sirlo Brahmankhand today.
