LOPAR to trigger heavy rains in Odisha till July14: MET
Bhubaneswar, Jul 11 : Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts in Odisha till July 14 next, Met sources said on Sunday.
It said a low pressure area (LOPAR) is formed over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh- south Odisha coasts this morning.
With Associated cyclonic circulation extending up to mid troposphere levels tilting southwestwards heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur from today till July 14 next.
Heavy rain will occur at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur on July 11 and 12.
Malkangiri Koraput and Nawarangpur will witness heavy rainfall on July 13 while Nabarangpur and Koraput will witness heavy rainfall on July 14
The Special Relief Commissioner(SRC) has asked the district collectors of the districts concerned to closely monitor the situation and take appropriate action as deemed necessary.
