Journo Arindam Das’ sister urges to stop spreading rumours about family
Bhubaneswar: Jharana Das, the sister of renowned Reporter Arindam Das who passed away in a tragic boat mishap at Mundali in Cuttack, Odisha during an elephant rescue operation a week ago, has urged mischief mongers to stop spreading malicious rumours about Das’ family on social media platforms.
Taking to Twitter Jharana said not to believe any fake news circulating in social media that Arindam Das’ family seeks financial help from public.
In this tough time, this is what I could think of doing to stop the rumors circulating about my brother Arindam Das. We are not in a condition to take these. Try to think what if it happens with your own family. Please stop making fun of anyone’s tragedy ? #ArindamDas pic.twitter.com/D7xBRpFH9S

She said, “As a family we can take care of his liabilities. By God’s grace we still have many well-wishers with us in this tough time. In our joint family we are 3 sisters and 2 brothers (including bhai), Maa, kaka, khudi, his wife (bhauja) and son. All his brother and sisters are married and doing fine with their lives.
Our father late Shri Jugal Kishore Das was working in SBI, who was well known for his honesty and humanity. As our father my brother was also pure at heart. He was dedicated to his work and was never behind money.
By the grace of God, we will be able to manage this tough situation so that his wife and son can lead a respectful life. I want to make it clear and request not to believe in the rumours circulating that we are in urgent need of money. Instead we need strength from all our well-wishers to go through this tough time.
Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who all are praying for strength, support and love for our family to grieve. People who are seeking attention from my brother’s untimely demise, I request them to spare us and show some humanity. Once again (I am) requesting to stop circulating fake videos in social media for God’s sake.”
