Simultaneous raids are being conducted by Sleuths from the Commissionerate Of CT & GST at major jewellery stores across Odisha on Monday to ascertain suspected evasion of GST by these stores. The sleuths are also carrying out checks for suspected violation of weight and measurement standards.
Reportedly, the raids are currently underway in 12 cities including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar to ascertain suspected evasion of GST by these stores.
Sources said the sleuths are also carrying out checks for suspected violation of weight and measurement standards. The raids were subsequent to allegations that some shops were selling fake gold ornaments to the customers.
