Bhubaneswar : Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson Nishikant Mishra today demanded a special audit of covid deaths in the state.
Mr Mishra said right from the beginning the government has encouraged the irregularities in
providing correct data about covid deaths and now deliberately trying to suppress the figures.
The Congress leader said the Orissa High Court has expressed its displeasure over the affidavit
on covid deaths submitted by the government in the court.
He said the Odisha government has sought time to submit the data on Covid deaths on July 5
but submitted the report on July 20 last.
But after analysing the report submitted by the government, the High Court on July 28 said the
report was incomplete and asked why the government was silent on the modalities adopted for
audit of covid deaths at the district level, Mr Mishra said.
He said the government has not submitted any data on 117 covid deaths during the last two
months in Nayagarh district.
Mr Mishra said it clearly indicated that after giving false data on covid deaths to the people
of the state, the government is now trying to misled the High Court by furnishing false data.
