Adarsh Vidyalaya Principal arrested for taking bribe in Odisha
Nuapada: The Odisha vigilance on Wednesday arrested Principal of Badigaon Adarsha Vidyalaya of Khariar block in Nuapada for allegedly taking Rs 4000 from a compliant to update his service bòok and sanction annual increment in his favour.
The accused, Sujan Sahu was caught by the Vigilance officials while receiving bribe from the compliant to sanction annual increment in his favour.
According to sources, the compliant had requested the Principal to sanction annual increment. However, Sahoo had demanded Rs 4000 from them.
Later, the teachers had lodged a complaint against Sahu with the vigilance division.
On the basis of the complaint, the vigilance laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the cash. The notes were seized from the accused and he was arrested.
In this connection Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 18 dated 24.8.2021 U/S 7 PC Amd.Act, 2018 has been registered. Simultaneous searches have also been launched on residential house of Sri Sahu in Angul district and his office at Badi, Dist-Nuapada. Investigation in progress against Sri Sahu.
