ACF death case : Lie- detector test report handed over to Crime Branch
Bhubaneswar: In a major development in ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra’s death case, polygraph test (lie detection) reports of ACF’s wife Bidya Bharati, Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and cook Manmath Kambha has been produced before the Odisha Crime Branch today.
Although the details of the report is yet to be communicated, sources said the Odisha Crime Branch will now examine the reports and their earlier recorded statements, and accordingly action will be taken.
It is pertinent to mention that Soumya Ranjan had sustained burn injuries at his quarters on July 11. He succumbed while being treated at a private hospital in Cuttack a day later.
The Crime Branch, which took over the investigation, has so far questioned many people related to the case as the late ACF’s family had accused the DFO and Soumya’s wife Bidya Bharati of involvement in his death, a charge both have refuted.
